In December 2013 a customer approached us with a special request:

He asked us to convert a Nordmeyer RSB 0/1.4 trailer drill rig into a crawler mounted drill rig. As his main drilling tasks consist of drilling within and alongside of train tracks, the rig had to be additionally equipped with a hydraulically operated center pivot plate.

For this purpose, we designed a special intermediate frame ensuring a strong mount of the drill rig on the crawler undercarriage. Furthermore, the construction contains all the hydraulic components necessary for rotation of the drill rig on the substructure. The new hydraulic control station and control platform became a harmonic and integral part of the converted drill rig.

This drill rig modification is a successful example of the competence of Kurth company not only in manufacturing of drill rigs but also in modifying and improvement of drill rigs of other brands.
